Sometime the truth is depriving and unacceptable and hence one is offended. Also, sometimes some people can be out of our league and one might feel offended. I am an offensive individual and I am adorably hated by a good bunch of people-Yes!, What an achievement in a short span of time.
Every child offends their parents all through their lifetime and speaking of "My Legends of Offending My Beloved Parents" are no worthy mention, so lets move on to the rest. I would sincerely like my readers to understand that I am a reasonable individual and do not perform any act of Offence without reasonable consideration.
Let's begin with the woman I had dated sometime back. I am not sorry to have offended her by being the man and not listening to her whims and fancies. I rather feel proud I had quit being her girlfriend and decided to be her boyfriend and the story goes like Princess Diana died in a car crash and Prince Charles is having a good time with other babes.
Older people have been offended by me because I addressed them by their name. Something is definitely wrong with India because older people find their own name offensive if they have been addressed so by someone "biologically" younger to them. If I should call you uncle, aunty, bhaiyya, behanji, sir or madam, I would like you to explain my relationship with you. If I genuinely feel some respect and I address you with salutations, well and good, you earned it from me.
I even once offended a whole women's college because I spoke my mind to an irrational feminist female. Well I really don't understand women who speaks about equality and doesn't treat men equal. What I said was a sexual statement and had it been said by a woman they would say "this is women's empowerment" in action and just because I said it, it is "bad upbringing" in action.
But what I have learned so far in life is that offence is a choice. Is it that I am being offensive or that you have an "offensive perception". We are in an age where people are asked to think, act, and behave according to a set code of conduct. Being yourself is offensive. Revolution is the demand to be yourself, revolution is being offensive, and I feel the new generation of radical thinkers should start offending the system so that the coming generation can live peacefully in an atmosphere of equality and love without facing unnecessary judgments.
